Bandage me!

Anyone can wear a black dress. But what does it take to rock a curve-hugging bandage dress? Well, hours of gym sessions and a lot of confidence. If you have a good figure and you want a sexy dress to show off your curves, I suggest that Herve Leger should be the one. Herve Leger dresses are also known as bandage dress because they fit you like its been bandaged to your body. These dresses are made from elastic bandages, hand-stitched together. It's the latest must have garment. Celebrities all over the world have been hit by the Leger mania!

Now a cheaper alternative to the signature Herve Leger dresses (they cost $1000+) are French Connection, Bebe, Forever new and few others. There are skirts too in the same bandage style. They look super hot. Specially the red ones. I saw a very pretty black one in Forever new, few weeks backs. The only problem is getting into one. How to do that?

a) Stop eating. Any signs of a tummy, love handles have to be gone by exercising or surgery, whichever suits you :)
b) You can only breathe in in it. But you can't breathe out. Get your lungs used to it!!
c) Sitting is easy, getting up is not!
d) Don't even think of running in them. You can walk taking 5inch steps at a time only!!

These pictures are great motivators. Makes me wanna run to the gym, to get the perfect shape to fit into one!

Online Shopping

Shopping just got easier :) A lot of fashion portals have partnered with various international and national brands to provide clothes, shoes, electronics, perfumes, watches, home decor and furnishings at discounted prices.

My favourite ones are fashionandyou, 99labels, brandmile and theprivatesales. These usually have 30%-70% off and they have new brands/labels to choose from everyday. The best part is they have a 'cash on delivery' option, which is a good thing because then you can shop without having to worry if your money just went into the bin.

Here's my personal invitation to all of you and shop like you've never shopped before. They have really awesome sales coming up this holiday season!

I wore a saree..

Last Sunday, Dhruthy threw a surprise wedding anniversary party for her parents at The Ballroom. She wanted to wear a saree and she insisted that all her friends wear one too. I had never EVER worn a saree in my life and I dinno how to wear one either. But she said, if I don't wear one I'd be the odd one out. So for her sake, I wore one. Anuradha being an angel, gave me a pretty orange saree with some beautiful and intricate peacock work on it. She also gave me earrings to go with it, but they literally killed my tiny ears.

So Sunday morning, after going to Lalbagh, we went back to Anuradha's place and started preparing ourselves for the big event, which included hours in the parlour and hours straightening my hair (which din't get straightened!!!). Her mom being an absolute sweetheart, draped the sarees for all of us - Dhruthy, Anuradha, Neha and me. Towards the start it was fine. I felt comfortable. But later, I felt like everything was falling out. Thanks to all the pins that held it all together and tight. What I couldn't bear was the pallu. I din't know what to do with it. Hold it in my hand or just leave and let it clean the floor or what? I felt like an Egyptian mummy draped in an orange saree. I couldn't walk around. Seriously, how do people dance in saree's?

I had to make countless number of trips to the washroom just to adjust my saree because it kept rotating around me. At one instant, the pleats wear on my side and not in the center. I wore the underskirt loose and it kept moving towards the side (Argghh). All I wanted to do that time was remove my saree and wear a jeans and tee. How comfy! But putting alllll that aside, the party was absolute fun and the food was ever so yummy!!

And I've decided that I'm not wearing a saree ever again!

Lal Bagh Botanical Garden

I went to Lal Bagh last Sunday with Anuradha, her parents and Neha. We got there around 8am for our morning walk. I had never been to Lal Bagh. I always thought it would be a boring place. But it's not. It's a beautiful place with lots of trees all around. It's a place where hundreds of Bangaloreans, of every possible age group, start their day amongst all the calm and serenity of the beautiful trees and gardens before they get to their busy and rather hectic and tiring work life. It's well maintained, clean, green, fresh and huge. I clicked lots of pictures, saw pelicans, crows =P, squirrels, and a few couples coochie coo-ing =D If you live in Bangalore, make sure you visit Lal Bagh atleast once.

Aviators and Wayfarers

Every month, I have a new "I want" list. This month Ray ban Wayfarers and Aviators tops it. I've been wanting to have a pair of Aviators ever since Sneha & Carol got theirs. I rarely wear shades. My eye doctor told me to wear shades every day because I had a sty once upon a time & Bangalore is so polluted that you have to cover your nose and eyes while travelling. Now, I want a pair of Wayfarers too. I like the square frame and it gives you this hot & serious look. Not that I'll ever wear it. But I just wana have it. Yes, I like buying stuff which I'll never ever use.

Now, I can't buy a pair of sunglasses for 7000rs. That's when I found out where to get both the glasses for less than 500rs. Yes, you get fakes (by fake, I mean an EXACT replica or so) in Bangalore. They have the proper Ray ban sign and Ray ban written on it. On the streets of Brigade, you will find atleast 4-5 vendors selling all types and sizes of Aviators and Wayfarers. Wayfarers, you get in black, red, pink, green and even yellow (Yes, Dhruthy!!) Each of them cost like 300rs. But if you are good at bargaining you can get it for less than 100rs. Depends on your skills!

My favourites are the black and red Wayfarers. I think they look super cool and Aviators are so hot. They look good on everyone. Even me! =] =] =]

Bling me Baby!

The latest trend of this season is sequins. Sequin embellished clothes and accessories are everywhere these days. Dresses, tops, skirts, leggings, shoes, bags and head bands are sequin embellished now. Bling is the new colour of life! There are a number ways to add a little sparkle to your outfits.

Now, the rule of wearing sequined clothes is that they have so much of sparkle in them, that you really don't need any other accessories. Try and wear just one piece per outfit, like a sequined skirt with a solid colour top, a sequined dress with black heels and clutch or a sequined top with a blazer and jeans. If you think a sequined top or dress is too over the top for you, you could always try a head band or heels with sequin details. My personal favourite are the metallic ones especially bronze. I think they look SUPER HOT. I own a pair of black sequined heels which Mez gifted me for my 20th Birthday. I lowe them more than myself!

DO NOT wear all your sequined stuff at one go. You don't wanna end up looking like a disco ball and blind the people around you!

Ok, I was feeling lil weird about publishing this post, because I don't have much idea about fashion and I din't do much research on this subject. But I did collect a lot of pictures :) Feel free to correct me if the above post is crap!

Instant Noodles

This post is about a mail which my dad sent me yesterday - noodles. When I was in school, I rarely had noodles. But after I got to college, instant noodles instantly became a part of my life. Hostel food was really bad and to fill my stomach I started having noodles. Its fast & easy to make. Maggi is the most consumed brand of instant noodles in India. Even Top ramen, Koka & Wai Wai are good. So many types (atta noodles!!) and brands of noodles are there these days. This new noodles is out by horlicks and its called Foodles. How dumb! Supposedly its a healthier version. Yeah right!!

Everyone says that noodles is not good for health. The flavouring powder in particular is just not good for your stomach. Normally, we put the noodles into a pot of hot water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 5 minutes and then it's ready to eat. Supposedly, this is not the correct way of cooking noodles. By doing this, we are actually boilling the ingredients in the powder, which contain Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). This will change the molecular structure of MSG, causing it to be toxic. The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, noodles are coated with wax so that the noodle will stick to one another & look bright prior to packaging. Consuming the wax regularly from the noodles can cause cancer in the long run. Therefore, it is important to remove the wax from the noodles prior to consumption. It is considered safer if you consume the noodles in dried noodle format than in the soup format as the wax is left behind the boiling water before you mix the noodles with the ingredients.

Correct Way of Cooking:
1)  Boil the noodles in a pot of  hot water.
2) Once the noodles is cooked, take out the noodles and throw away the water which contains wax.
3) Boil another pot of water, add the cooked noodles into the hot boiling water and then turn off the stove.
4) Only at this stage when the stove is off and while the water is very hot, add the flavouring powder into the water, to make noodle soup.
5) However, if you need dry noodles, remove the noodles and add the flavouring powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

My suggestion: Add butter, cheese and oregano to make it more yummier =D

Hello kitty noodles?!?!?!  Seriously? I thought they make only stationary stuff for 1riyal.

Movie Review - Anjaana Anjaani

Lately, I've been dying to watch Anjaana Anjaani. I loved their promos, songs and I love Ranbir Kapoor. Who doesn't? He's so cute! Most of my  friends who watched it said that the movie was bad and its pointless going to the theatre to watch it. So, I downloaded it last night. Yay! I love chick flicks and rom-coms particularly the ones which start with a once upon a time there was a handsome prince and a beautiful princess, blah blah blah, fell in love, blah blah blah and they lived happily ever after! Aww :) :) I hate horror, thriller or real life inspired movies.

So, coming back to Anjaana Anjaani, the movie sucks ass. I watched first hour of that horrible movie, till they decide to go to Vegas and then I slept off. So this review is of that 1 hour. Rest half, Google and read it. The movie goes like, 2 losers - Ranbir Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra try to suicide so many times, but they fail. Hence they decide to live for 20 days more, do all the fun stuff they always wanted to do in life and then try to jump off some stupid bridge again and kill themselves. Some parts of the movie were ok. Just OKAY! Zayed Khan - why is he still acting? The only thing I liked is Priyanka Chopra's name - Kiara. How I wish my name was Kiara :) :)

If you liked Anjaana Anjaani, then I'm sure you will like Tarzan and Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag!

Next on list : Dabangg!! :) :) :)

Fishy fish

My best friend Jeena was in town last weekend and we decided to go for a Fish spa. We have been planning to go for this since forever! In Bangalore, Kenko spa offers fish spa treatment for your feet and hands. It has branches in Lavelle road and Garuda Mall as well.

This wasn't my first time here. I had been here on my birthday last year & loved it, which is why I wanted Jeena to try it as well. They have this pool of zillion small, tiny, cute but freaky fish, into which we have to dip our feet for them to feed on the dead cells. I remember the first few minutes I didn't dip my feet because I thought it would hurt me. And just when I dipped my feet all the fish rushed towards my feet. This just freaked me out. But the lady over there told me that, its not at-all painful and its kinda ticklish. That's exactly what it was - freaking ticklish! You end up laughing and screaming because when the fish are nibbling on your dead cells, it tickles. Its so cute to see the lil ones eat. This is the same experience Jeena went through. Towards the start it was weird, but later we both loved it and wanted that ticklish feeling to last longer. But it was just a 10 minutes procedure. We could have opted for the 20 or 30 minutes one, but its kinda too pricey at 420rupees for 20 minutes as all they do is wash your feet before and after the procedure. They don't even apply a moisturizer later or massage your feet. So basically, we feed the fish. They should pay us! Haha! =] But the tingly feeling is something that everyone should try atleast once.

These fishes are called Garra Rufa.. They nibble on your skin removing all the dead cells through natural exfoliation. It is also called Doctor fish because it heals people affected with skin problems like psoriasis.
