Hot shorts in Lulu??

Yesterday when I went to Lulu, I saw this lady wearing hot shorts. Its LULU for god's sake! Even though I wear very decent clothes, the salesmen over there stare. And this Filipino lady had wore hot shorts. What were you thinking lady? Or are you new here? Almost everyone there was staring at her.

OK, now my non Lulu-ite friends must be wondering what Lulu is? Lulu = Big Bazaar! Lulu is a shopping centre for groceries, food items, clothes, shoes, cosmetics, watches, almost everything. Its open all over the Middle east. In Qatar, there are currently 3 outlets - Lulu hypermarket, Lulu centre and Lulu supermarket. What's the difference? Nothing! It's all the same. Just that you don't get food items at Lulu centre. Only clothes and electronics and stuff like that.

Most of the salesmen in Lulu are Indians. And we Indian's have a habit of staring at anyone who wears less clothes. Towards the start even I used to stare, because we all love to see hot women =D But thanks to my Bangalore life, now I don't. I'm even used to seeing people make-out right in front of me in restaurants =] =] =] In Qatar, you usually see women clad in their abaya's, well-covered and decently dressed. But in the recent years, things have been changing and now you can see women in short trousers, skirts and dresses. Its OK to dress like that to a mall. But Lulu?? NO NO NO NO NO!!! Even my mom was staring at that lady. She was like "Baby, Baby, look at what she's wearing..HAAAAWWW". But I have to admit, her legs were super hot!

I HATE going to Lulu. It is the closest shop near my house where you can get everything. My mom used to love shopping there. But now, she hates it too. Thank you Mom! Its 24/7 crowded. Yes, you go anytime of the day over there, it will be crowded. No matter what! I remember getting up early in the morning on Saturdays to go to Lulu, so that it'll be less crowded. NO! Even at 9am you won't get parking. My mom says you literally have to fight and take tomatoes from the grocery department. Why is it always crowded? Are they giving anything for free? No! Are the stuff there cheaper? Umm, no I don't think so. Maybe! My brother says its Lulu's strategy. The owners of Lulu keep some certain number of cars parked all the time so that when people see that there is no parking, they'll be like..Oooooooo they are definitely giving things for free. Lets rush!!!

And God save those days when they put a few items on sale. So, therefore it is same as big bazaar. Just that its 4-5times bigger and more crowded. And please don't go to Lulu on Friday's and Saturday's, because half the population in Doha will be there. And I have to say this, Filipinos are taking over us, Indians. They are like everywhere. Wth!

P.S. India's biggest shopping mall is opening in Cochin soon. And it's Lulu!

Must Haves!

I recently came across this article about "Must have" in your closet list. I found that list a lil too much for the normal people like ME because I don't think a Chanel bag is a must have bag. HellllOOOOO!! I personally don't believe in spending a bomb on clothes. But if I reeeeally like something, I don't mind. I've sometimes (most of the times) bought really expensive clothes - loved it in the shop, got it home >> DISLIKE! I'm sure this happens to every one of us. So I thought of making my own list. Now this list is particularly for the people who stay in South India. So no trench coats or boots.
NOTE:  I'm not a fashionista!

1. Jeans
A pair of black and blue jeans is a must have.

2. A perfect fitting white/black shirt
A classic white/black shirt is a must have in every girl's closet. It's the most versatile piece, which you can wear over & over again and still look different every single time by just accessorizing it differently. It would go with almost everything from suits to jeans, denim skirts to cargo pants and even shorts.

3. Flats
Flats give your feet a heavenly comfort. They are perfect for the Indian roads which are so uneven and are super comfy and fit for every season. They come in every of colour, size, designs and you can run, jump, skip and fall in love with these.

4. Basic tshirts
These includes plain tees, stripe tees, polo tees and the most famous 'cartoon tees'. Although the cartoon tees are not going to stay for long, the plain ones are a necessity. They can be paired with a stole, shrug, jacket,  or a sweater. Basic colours like black, white, grey, blue and few printed ones can be mix and matched with other outfits.

5. Kurthis/Kurthas
THE most comfy-est clothes in the world. They can be worn with jeans, patiala pants, chudi pants and leggings. I like loose fitting kurthas. They are such a life saver during summers. (Sorry about the pic below. Google images could give me only this decent one)

6. Bags
Now, there are about 3 different kinds of bags you need. a) Sling bag to be carried while shopping and travelling  b) A back pack for laptop/heavy books  c) a tote for every day use. Now I don't really think a clutch is a must have because I have a clutch which I've used just once, in like 2years.

7. Scarf
Scarf/stole is one accessory you can wear on your head, around your neck, around your shoulder or waist or even tie it on your bag. You can even wear this anytime time of the year. Yes summers too. A plain tee + a printed stole = CHIC!

8. Belts
Belts are good for not only the obvious reason - holding your pants but these are now a fashion statement too. They can be used to emphasize your curves, something to break the outfit, to give your plain black dress a punch of colour and look awesomely good. I have just one brown belt which I wear very rarely. But whenever I wear it, I lowe it!

9. Hoodies
Hoodies give u a drugger look and makes you look cool. Yo! Don't we all love our cozy hoodie? Aah, winter...come soon!

This list would never end. There are so many more things that are 'must haves'. Like a pair of black heels, a perfect black dress (but I don't wear dresses, so not in my list), capris, cardigans, tank tops in almost every colour etc etc. Can I add a blazer too? 21years and I haven't used a blazer in my life. But I would love to have a blazer..a boyfriend blazer? "Love to have" list next?? This one would DEFINITELY never ever end!

Things I hate =/

I've been writing quite a few posts about what I like. So I've decided to write a small post on what I hate. Exciting! So here's ma list:

1. Burping loud. I HATE people who burp loud. Its OK if its not on purpose. But it really gets on my nerves, when I'm having food and some one else on the same table burps. Its so eww. Once during my driving lessons, my driving instructor Oblesh (funny name,eh?) burped on my face when was I was looking back and taking a reverse. YUCK. It had this weird masala dosa smell. Puke Puke!!!

2. Bad body odour. How difficult is it to take a bath everyday? OK if not bath, just put some deodorant or perfume.

3. Eating habits. I can't stand people who chew gum like cows. Not just gum. Other food items too. And the noise that accompanies it. Argh! Even when you are eating chips, you don't have to let the whole planet know your eating. KkrrrRRiiSSSpppPPPP!  Chew slowly.

4. Attitude of some salesmen/women. I hate it when you enter a store and the salesman looks at you as if your an alien from Pluto who's come to buy human stuff. Once when I went to a boutique in Kerala, I asked the saleslady to show me a salwar suit, shes was like 'Its Rs.3000'. Bitch, I dint ask you the price. Show me the effing suit. I can afford your whole shop! (Umm, ok a part of it)

5. Breaking lines/queues. Dude, are you blind? You are standing behind me. Stand there! Don't try and come in between. I will not let you in.

6. When your writing a paper and the person sitting right next to you, starts shaking his legs and in turn starts shaking the whole bench. ARGHHHH!! Specially when big fat guys sit next to you, its like a mini earthquake!

7. Men peeing on the road. No comments =/

8. OK, that's it. I can't think of more.

LSU2

What is LSU2? It took me a week to figure out what LSU2 is. When my friend Max (Mansha) once msged me something about LSU2, I was wondering what on earth does LSU2 stand for. It stands for 'Living Space Unit 2'. And that is my hostel name =D

Living Space, because there's a lot of space inside to live (huh?!?!). And you have to live, because you aint got any other option. My hostel is located in Girinagar, Bangalore. Rickshaws don't agree to go there. Its a dead area after 7pm. Most of the crimes take place there. Hot features of  LSU2:

1) You can go out of the hostel by 7am. But you have to be back by 7pm. Even if you die, please get your corpse to the hostel by 7pm. Otherwise, you will have to  a) pay a fine of Rs.500 or more  b) Tell your parents to call the warden and say sorry (WTF?!?!?!) c) Write a love letter to Vinay 'Sir' ( He's the head of LSU2) stating I will not repeat this again and come even 1minute late to hostel.

2) Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner have potato in common. Potato is God. And hence will be served everyday whatsoever. Its the cheapest vegetable in India. Extra curd, juice, ice cream will not be served unless you show some skin.

3) Mess guys who serve us food act as if they own the hostel. At times they pluck weird grass from roadside and serve as sabzi (vegetable).

4) We have a pretty big (I don't know how many inches) TV, which can't be heard when you sit right in front. But if you are in the third floor, you can hear it crisp clear.

5) Cellphones have to switched off after 11pm. And you are not allowed to go to others rooms after 10pm. Screw you! Who follows all this?

6) Maggi is the most consumed food in the hostel. No, they don't  serve us maggi. We make our own maggi when we are about to die of hunger.

7) Dress code - Hot shorts, Deep neck lines, Transparent spaghetti's, Honeymoon nighties.

8) Every year hostel day takes place where you get to show yourcountry behaviors.

9) Water coolers rarely have water.

10) Rats and mice are our pets and we will not kill them.

11) Alcohol/cigarette smoking is cool and is allowed only in the toilets.

12) Boyfriend becomes your father and girlfriends become your mother during LG permission.

Even though it had a pissing off curfew, bad food and weird inmates, it also housed retard, insane and crazy girls who are now my bestest friends and they made LSU2 my home. Home is love!

Hindi songs = Drama!

I'm an Indian and hence the love for Hindi songs runs in my blood. My dad loves old Hindi songs by Mohd.Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Mahendra Kapoor, Asha Bhosle, Pankaj Udas, Kumar Sanu and few others. But I don't really listen to their songs unless my dad plays them in the car. I listen to the new era songs, by the cool dudes like Himesh Reshammiya and Atif Aslam. =P =P

I usually associate to Hindi songs when I'm sad. I don't know whats the reason behind it. Whenever I'm sad, I end up listening to Hindi songs. Thank you Himesh Reshammiya for making such wonderful sad songs and making me cry more. There are hardly any songs in Hindi now which are fun and happy. Yes, there are. But the sad ones sound better and nicer to the ears specially when your crying =P

My opinion/advice to few Hindi playback (why are they called like that?!?!) singers:

Himesh Reshammiya: Dude, even if you change hairstyles, you can't act. You make me cry with your songs and laugh with your movies.

Atif Aslam: I lowe you <3

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan: Your whole generation can sing. AWESOME!!

Sonu Nigam: Thank you very much for realizing that you can't act. You can sing so well. Why act??

Daler Mahendi: Are you alive??

Hard Kaur: Girl, you can rap!! Good job!!!

Kailash Kher: ....ho gayi main teri deewani deewani <3 <3

Mika Singh: Sweetie, no one cares if your going to marry or jump into a well. Just sing and buzz off!

P.S. Listen to Madno from Lamhaa. Lovely song! =D
