Fishy fish

My best friend Jeena was in town last weekend and we decided to go for a Fish spa. We have been planning to go for this since forever! In Bangalore, Kenko spa offers fish spa treatment for your feet and hands. It has branches in Lavelle road and Garuda Mall as well.

This wasn't my first time here. I had been here on my birthday last year & loved it, which is why I wanted Jeena to try it as well. They have this pool of zillion small, tiny, cute but freaky fish, into which we have to dip our feet for them to feed on the dead cells. I remember the first few minutes I didn't dip my feet because I thought it would hurt me. And just when I dipped my feet all the fish rushed towards my feet. This just freaked me out. But the lady over there told me that, its not at-all painful and its kinda ticklish. That's exactly what it was - freaking ticklish! You end up laughing and screaming because when the fish are nibbling on your dead cells, it tickles. Its so cute to see the lil ones eat. This is the same experience Jeena went through. Towards the start it was weird, but later we both loved it and wanted that ticklish feeling to last longer. But it was just a 10 minutes procedure. We could have opted for the 20 or 30 minutes one, but its kinda too pricey at 420rupees for 20 minutes as all they do is wash your feet before and after the procedure. They don't even apply a moisturizer later or massage your feet. So basically, we feed the fish. They should pay us! Haha! =] But the tingly feeling is something that everyone should try atleast once.

These fishes are called Garra Rufa.. They nibble on your skin removing all the dead cells through natural exfoliation. It is also called Doctor fish because it heals people affected with skin problems like psoriasis.

Restaurant review - Cafe Noir

Cafe Noir is located in UB City, Vittal Mallya road. Its an open place right next to City bar.I had been there last week and I had THE-MOST amazing Hot chocolate - Choco Parisienne from there. I also ordered for Chocolate Mille Feuille which is a layered puff pastry. And Mez had Creme Brulee, a custard dessert which was just marvellous. I usually don't like custard. But this one was to die for.

I went there again yesterday. I had ordered for a 3 Chocolate Ganache cake. Its got 3 layers of dark chocolate, white chocolate and milk chocolate. And oh boy, I could kill anyone for this piece of cake. It was the yummiest cake I had ever tasted & I even brought some back home. ;)

There's nothing better than amazing chocolate, good friends, great weather and a lovely place like Cafe Noir to be at.

Thank God It's Friday

I have always considered Friday to be a holiday, because I spend half my life in Qatar where it is the weekend. But here, in India, it is a week day. Now, thanks to Ayodhya verdict, I'm getting Friday off after so long :) :) Oh btw, the Ayodhya verdict is out. I have no clue about it so I'm not gonna blabber shit.

I woke up early today and cooked breakfast. I made myself a lovely omelette with toast and coffee. Yummy!

What you need:
Chicken sausages - Sliced
Eggs - 2
Milk
Oil
Salt, Oregano, Chilli flakes, Black pepper
Bread

What you gotta do:
1) Slice the sausages and fry them in oil until they are done.
2) Beat the eggs, salt, oregano, chilli flakes and a little bit of black pepper to your taste. Add milk too to make it fluffy.
3) Pour the above mixture onto a hot pan and put the sausages on top.
4) Wait till its cooked. Toast the bread if required.

And there... YUMMYYY  =] =]

Hair Scare

This post is about something I worry alllll the time. Atleast once a day. My hair! I have the worst quality hair on earth. Its drizzy (dry+frizzy) almost every other day. But some days, it acts normal and fine. My hair and its mood swings!!

I used to have nice straight hair when I was in school and then I don't know what happened. It just went curly, dry, rough and frizzy. Since then, I have tried almost every shampoo and conditioner in the market. Almost 2years back,I straightened my hair. It still wasn't completely straight. I guess, the chemicals dint have any effect on my rough and tough hair. But I feel my hair has become subtle after I got it straightened. I have tried all possible shampoo's - L'oreal, Herbal Essence, Sunsilk, Wella and so on. I hated all of them. Nothing worked on my hair. I use Pantene now, which kinda works for me.

My hair regimen:
-I wash my hair every alternate days. I shampoo and then massage my scalp for about 2minutes.
-I then apply conditioner, put shower cap and keep it on for about 10-15mins. This makes my hair soft and nice.
-After my hair dries out, I tie my hair in a bun so that all the strands get straight and manageable.
-For the fringes, I pull them back and pin it, so that it dries straight.

I don't like leave-in conditioners because I feel my hair looks good only for sometime after I apply them, but later it get backs to normal. I'm going for a hair spa this weekend. Hopefully, my hair will get better. And this is how I look after my bath.

OK, I'm ugly!

Green Tea

Thanks to the Ayodhya verdict, I can enjoy a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday. Yeaiii :) But the sad part is, I can't go out anywhere because there could be riots in the city because of the verdict. So I'm going to relax, take a break, sleep all day, watch movies, eat, read and blog :)

3years back, my friend OnYou told me about how green tea is good for health and weight loss. The very next day I went and bought my 1st pack of green tea and since then I've been having it almost everyday. It originates from China and is made with the leaves of Camellia sinesis. There's nothing extraordinary about this cup of tea. It tastes almost like normal water. It's just a wee lil bitter. I don't think it has helped me lose weight. But its got a lot of other benefits.

-They help kill the cancerous cells and stop their progression.
-Helps prevent the development of Type 1 diabetes.
-Chemicals found in green tea may also be effective in treating genital warts and preventing symptoms of cold and flu.
-Polyphenols present in green tea may help treat viral hepatitis - inflammation of liver from a virus
-Green tea lowers total cholesterol and helps raise good cholesterol.
-Helps in weight loss. They boost metabolism and help burn fat.

Certain Chinese restaurants like Aromas of China and Mainland China serve green tea with your meal. I usually buy Lipton clear green tea and I love how every tea bag comes with this little note. Note of the day - A cup that purifies your body from within.
