Pani puri

Pani puri is one the most famous chat in India. Its also known as Puchka and Golgappa. They are small round puris with potato fillings inside. Basically they mash boiled potatoes, add random spices, chana, tamarind, pepper, green chili etc, fill it inside the puri and dip it in jeera water. You are supposed to eat it at one go without biting it. But in my small mouth, one whole puri doesn't fit. I have seen a lot of people eat the whole thing at one go. Even kids who are just 5-6yrs old eat the whole like a lion. Sometimes I stare at people's mouth when they eat pani puri. Its amazing how their mouth gets sooo wide and big.

I had this English teacher in school, forgot her name(was it Betsy?Bency??) I don't know. I don't remember. She used to yawn like a lion. I swear!

Just today morning I was craving for pani puri. I have no idea why. I just came from the land of pani puri. You don't really get pani puri's in Qatar. You do, but its different. Over there, the sweat and dirt from the fellow maker's hand adds a special taste to it. Eating from roadside is so much fun.

I don't really like 'pani' puri. I like it without the pani :) Its called sukha(dry) puri. Its basically the same thing without the water. I get stomach upsets when I have that pani. The first time I had pani puri, OH MY GOD!!!! I think I slept in the loo that night.

So the first time you have pani puri, make sure you have lots of water, lemonade, green tea, soda or whatever that soothes your stomach.

P.S. The pani puri fellow near my hostel once had huge boils on his fingers! YUMMY!! =D

My very own Louis Vuitton

The day I got here my mom told me that Lorna (dad's colleague) got me a wallet. I was wondering oh, its must be another pink wallet. The last wallet she got me had all shades of pink. Yikes!!

My mom gave me the box and I was OH MY GOD, LV!!! I loved the wallet. Love love love!
Its from Louis Vuitton Paris. Its a zipper wallet with plenty of room for your cards, coins and money if you have any :P

I've always wanted a LV wallet. My love for LV started few years back. I used to browse through random fashion sites and every celebrity would have a LV bag/clutch/wallet. I wanted one too. I love the monogram collection. Its so pretty. I still remember going to LV store in Bangalore and I asked the salesman how much is it for this particular bag and he was like Rs.96,000. I was like huh?!?!?wtf?? Who the hell has so much money? I know a lot of people do. But just think of it? I would buy a 96,000 bag and travel in a rick/local bus? Haha!

And now I'm in the land of Qatar, where Arab women have LV bags like Lulu hypermarket shopping bags. Damn, these Arabs!

Music

Music makes my world go round. Certain songs remind me of people, place and situations. Its like every song has my own story behind it. Few of my favorite songs right now are:

- Tere Liye from Prince (Couch night - awesome!)
- Alejandro by Lady Gaga (I love the way she says Alejandro,Fernando & Roberto)
- Lovers cry by Akcent (Carol, I love this song now. Damn, I missed the concert)
- OMG by Usher (Jeena, thank you for showing me this video almost everyday)
- Forever Young by Jay Z (Mez Ali, I miss singing this song)

lalalalalaaaalalaaaa :) :)
